23 delegates from the tea export business and trade promotion centers from Northern provinces, representing Vietnamese Tea Association, national consultants and international conferences attended to together share the latest information about the trends of the world market in 2015 and 2016.
Addressing the seminar, Mr. Do Kim Lang, Deputy Director - Director of the Program emphasizes the brand of tea of Vietnam in particular and agricultural products in general have not been widely known in the world, so the program is focused on supporting the domestic export enterprises to be able to introduce and promote a number of branded teas of Vietnam with the traditional export markets and the potential in the world.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy - Vice President of the National Programme introduced to the delegates he Thusil Tissera, international consultants for the tea industry and Nguyen Anh Hong, Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Tea Association share more updates on the status of the world tea market in 2015 and the trends and challenges for this item in 2016.
In the last year, the decline of oil prices worldwide has a negative impact on consumer demand and increase the competitiveness of the tea exporting countries in the near future in terms of price and quality of this product.
To overcome these challenges, the Vietnamese tea exporters should focus more on the construction of Vietnam's tea image to become safe food products as well as take advantages of the world large tea trade promotion events will take place in Russia, Korea, Poland and Germany in this year. Ms Nguyen Anh Hong, deputy general secretary of Vietnamese Tea Association also provides recommendations for Vietnamese tea enterprises that should be cautious when massively converting to produce green tea without focusing on the safe tea production as well as the application of new technologies and sustainable production patterns towards cleaner quality of specialty teas having the advantage of exporters.
According to the plan, in the year 2016-2017, the program will continue to actively support the tea industry now seeking new export markets, developing and completing the development plan of tea exports towards meeting the global export standards and creating the position of items on the world market.
